I need to add this tho my watch list of places to see real people working their closet. Forget $5-bucks, Dunkin Donuts seems to be the IT spot for spotting fashion.

The booties, the Michal Kors Greyson MK signature satchel in painted leather and the quiet elegance… Love it all.

NYFW Street Style 2012: Classic Casual Office With Flair

This outfit just screams style and comfort. It used to be the standard “uniform” back during a time when The Gap actually sold “office wear”. (For those of us who can remember back that far!)    Actually I just picked up the updated version of this black twill skirt at that very store with two front patch pocket details.

The hit of color at the ankle and great pinch of peach feminize and fashion fwd this standard but keep everything else to a minimum.  A hint of fur on the overcoat doesn’t hurt either.  Add this one to your rotation for a no brainer!!

Old Navy We Love You But What A Mess

I love to shop for amazing bargains at this time of year. The air is crisp,  inventory is over and the stores must make room for holiday items to come out of the warehouse.  Not to leave out the fact that the kids are back in school and all of  those budding, bargain hunting, baby budgetistas are out of my way.

It is also a maxim universally understood that discount racks can be a bit messy. Sometimes the best item may even be on the floor. It totally baked my brain when I shopped the Old Navy in Yonkers pictured. To call it a mess would be an improvement. I had to ask a worker, off the record, if something had happened. All he said was “no”. My shopping buddy asked the sales associate how long he thought it would take for them to clean up and the answer with a smirk was “hours”.  It was already 8pm.

Management, where for art thou?

Get The Look: Emma Stone In Soho NYC

Why do we instantly want to pull out our plaid jackets and leather boots as soon as the kids go back to school?

We saw this street look of Emma’s and thought that it would be a great FNO look.  It has an understated ”fashion” feel without looking like you are trying too hard.  Year after year plenty of women pull out the MOST EXPENSIVE labels in their closet in order to make a splash in Manhattan for Fashion’s Night Out.  Unlike crazy high heels and Mad Men tailoring, this outfit is built for shopping, comfort and great hair.  A girl could shine.

Naturally a great tote is needed and a gold charm bracelet could be the pop of  HIGH END that takes this look to a great place.  If you feel you MUST you could wear a $80 pair of jeans or $200 pair of leather skinnies.  The pair featured here are from H&M.  Enough said!

Did Your Stylist Take The Day Off – Let Them!!

We all love the job that a Stylist can do for our look.  They have their finger on the pulse of fashion and a Rolodex of death. They get it first and accessorize it to perfection.  Unfortunately we ALL can not afford to have one on call.

Being an everyday fashion girl myself, I love to see people’s personal style.  All types get my attention. From freshly washed and headed to work to post disco nap and ready for a night out on the town to the ever popular walk of shame the night after.  There comes a time that we must shop alone in our closet and let the worn down heels fall where they may.

Be it budget minded layperson, city slick fashionista, the latest hot faux-lebrity or retail royalty, we want to know all and will tell all that we know. Home run to hot mess, fashion is as personal style does.  Let’s dish!!!
